The Denver Broncos picked up their first victory of the season on Sunday, topping the Jacksonville Jaguars 20-13 at Empower Field at Mile High. Trailing in a matchup with a Jaguars side chasing a 10th consecutive regular-season victory, Denver pulled away by scoring 17 points after intermission.
Quarterback Bo Nix completed 22 of 31 attempts for 288 yards and a touchdown. His top target was Jaylen Waddle, who finished with eight catches for 138 yards after being held to a single reception in the Week 1 loss to Kansas City.
During FanDuel TV's Up & Adams, host Kay Adams highlighted that Nix averaged 9.3 yards per dropback — Denver's best figure in that category since Peyton Manning posted 9.9 against Arizona in 2014. She credited what she called the Waddle effect and described Waddle as a game-changer, noting the Broncos acquired him for draft picks to serve as an ideal downfield weapon for Nix.
