Damian Piwowarczyk stopped previously unbeaten Emilio Quissua in the first round at Dana White's Contender Series to secure a UFC deal.
Damian Piwowarczyk, a light heavyweight from Poland, earned a UFC contract on Week 7 of Season 10 of Dana White's Contender Series. Fighting at Meta Apex in Las Vegas, he defeated Emilio Quissua by first-round technical knockout.
Quissua, who entered the bout unbeaten, started strongly before Piwowarczyk turned the fight around. The finish came by strikes at 4:55 of the opening round. UFC CEO Dana White praised the performance and awarded Piwowarczyk a contract afterward.
"It's one of the best moments in my life," Piwowarczyk said in a post-fight interview. He added that he had prepared for three or four months to arrive in peak condition.
Piwowarczyk built his reputation competing for the Polish promotion KSW, where he established himself as one of the organization's most exciting fighters before receiving his Contender Series opportunity.
