Defender Danilo has spoken publicly about his departure from Juventus, saying he intended to finish his European career with the Italian club before circumstances changed.
Speaking via Tuttomercatoweb, Danilo said he had planned to build his career and complete it at Juventus, but an internal issue left him without the same recognition and outside the club's project.
Danilo had been a key figure at the Allianz Stadium and served as team captain. His standing changed after Thiago Motta became manager, and after struggling early in the new coach's tenure, he was removed from the squad around the January window.
He was subsequently sold to Flamengo, where he continues his professional career in Brazil. The exit came despite the player's stated wish to remain with Juventus.
