Seton stays unbeaten atop Cincinnati-area girls volleyball rankings

Seton remains No. 1 at 14-0, while McNicholas climbs to No. 2 and Beechwood sits fourth after back-to-back All "A" state titles.

The latest Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky girls volleyball power rankings still have Seton on top. The unbeaten Saints improved to 14-0 with a win over previously once-beaten Harrison and a road victory at Roger Bacon. Charley Moeddel ranks among the league's top five in kills, blocks and aces, something no player has done since St. Ursula's Mary Shaffer in 2018.

McNicholas moved up one spot to No. 2 at 13-1 after beating Fenwick, Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy and St. Ursula. Savanna Stacey recently passed 1,000 career kills, and the Rockets limited St. Ursula to a .095 hitting percentage and a single ace. Fenwick slipped to No. 3 at 13-1, while Beechwood held at No. 4 after winning consecutive All "A" state championships to run its record to 18-1.

Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy dropped its first match of the season, a four-set loss at McNicholas, and is No. 6. St. Ursula is No. 5, Ursuline No. 7, Kings No. 8, Notre Dame No. 9 and St. Henry No. 10. Notre Dame has won eight of its last 10 behind a defense that has been strong at the net, with Kaia Tilden leading the team in digs.

Several ranked teams meet in the coming days. Seton visits St. Ursula on Sept. 24 before hosting Beechwood on Sept. 26 and traveling to Ursuline on Sept. 29. Notre Dame plays at Ryle on Sept. 24, McNicholas travels to Alter the same night, and St. Henry hosts Holy Cross on Sept. 23.
