Jamestown High School celebrated a pair of career milestones before its volleyball match against Bismarck High on Tuesday. Coach Sara Hegerle announced that senior Hannah Attleson had reached 1,000 career assists and senior Lucy Falk had recorded 1,000 career kills.
Hegerle praised the two seniors for their team-first approach, noting that each credits the other for her achievement. Attleson is in her second season as Jamestown's starting setter, while Falk has played varsity for three seasons. Both said they learned of their milestones during the team's match against Minot.
The Blue Jays went on to defeat the Demons 25-18, 25-20, 26-24, moving to 7-0 in the West Region. Attleson added 40 assists and Falk contributed 16 kills in the win. Aylexys Walch finished with 11 kills, including the match-winning shot in the third set.
Bismarck kept the final set close, tying it at 24 before Morgan Scott brought up match point and Walch ended it. Hegerle said the Demons matched up well and that discipline was the difference for Jamestown.
