Adams Dominates Giants With Nacua Out; Harbaugh Says Rams Did Nothing Special

Davante Adams caught nine passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns as the Rams beat the Giants on Monday Night Football without Puka Nacua.

The Los Angeles Rams were without wide receiver Puka Nacua on Monday night against the New York Giants, and Davante Adams became the clear focus of the passing attack as a result.

Adams finished with nine receptions for 175 yards and two touchdowns. After the game, Rams coach Sean McVay told reporters that Adams is a true No. 1 receiver and praised the trust between Adams and quarterback Matthew Stafford, which he said developed through offseason work together.

Giants coach John Harbaugh was asked whether Los Angeles did anything unusual to make Adams difficult to cover. According to Harbaugh, the Rams did not do anything special, and Adams simply made plays.

Asked whether New York considered having cornerback Greg Newsome II shadow Adams, Harbaugh said the team had a number of ideas and things it tried during the game.

Other Rams receivers were largely quiet. Tutu Atwell had one catch for 19 yards and Konata Mumpfield had one catch for 12 yards.
