The bout is a rematch of their November 24, 2025 meeting at the same venue, which Inoue won by unanimous decision. Inoue (22-2, 5 KOs) last fought in May, beating Kazuto Ioka by decision and dropping him twice. Nasukawa (8-1, 3 KOs) rebounded from his first career defeat by stopping Juan Francisco Estrada in nine rounds in April in a WBC final eliminator.
The card is notable for its depth of championship stakes. Ryosuke Nishida faces Sam Goodman over 12 rounds for the interim IBF junior featherweight title, Tomoya Tsuboi meets Ricardo Malajika for a vacant WBC belt, and Ryusei Matsumoto takes on Acosta for a vacant strawweight world title. A four-round featherweight bout between Hayato Aiko and Natsuki Kuramochi rounds out the five-fight card.
