Carolina's second-year running back is headed to injured reserve after leaving Sunday's win, per NFL Network.
Carolina Panthers running back Jonathon Brooks is expected to miss at least six weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a core-muscle injury, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Brooks left Sunday's win early and will be placed on injured reserve. Rapoport reported that the timeline should still allow Brooks to return and contribute late in the season.
Injuries have followed Brooks since before he entered the league. He tore his ACL during his final season at Texas, when he had been tracking toward being the top-ranked running back in the 2024 draft class.
The Panthers selected Brooks in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Since then, he has appeared in just five games.
