Kentucky Freshman Kenny Darby Earns Top-10 PFF Grade for Week 3

Receiver Kenny Darby graded 78.6 by Pro Football Focus, sixth among true freshmen, after bouncing back from an early drop in Kentucky's 31-21 win at Texas A&M.

Kentucky true freshman receiver Kenny Darby received a 78.6 grade from Pro Football Focus for his Week 3 performance, the sixth-highest mark among all true freshmen nationally. The grade came in a 31-21 road victory over Texas A&M in front of a hostile crowd in College Station.

Darby dropped what would have been a first-quarter touchdown pass from quarterback Kenny Minchey, a drive that ultimately produced no points. He responded after halftime, catching a 42-yard touchdown from Minchey on the opening drive of the third quarter to give Kentucky its first lead of the game.

On the following drive, Darby added a 22-yard reception that converted a first down from Kentucky's own 17-yard line and helped set up another touchdown. He finished with two catches for 64 yards.

Through three games, Darby leads Kentucky with 10 catches for 183 yards and two touchdowns. He signed with the Wildcats on the final day of the early signing period after previously committing to LSU.

Kentucky is scheduled to host South Alabama at Kroger Field in its next game.
