Germany head coach Jürgen Klopp indicated Wednesday that Jamal Musiala is likely to be in the starting lineup when his side meets the Netherlands in UEFA Nations League play on Thursday, a match that marks Klopp's first in charge of the national team.
The 23-year-old Bayern Munich forward twice collapsed during pre-season. The brief absences were later traced to a neurological condition, after which doctors adjusted his medication. He has not had any further on-field issues since the change.
Musiala has appeared in Bayern's past four matches and completed a full 90 minutes in the club's 7-0 victory over 1. FC Union Berlin, a game in which he scored once and set up another goal.
Speaking to reporters, Klopp said there was nothing to discuss with the player about the episodes, adding that the matter had been fully resolved and that Musiala is going through training without any restrictions. What the player needs now, the coach said, is a normal routine, which the squad provides.
