Jürgen Klopp, who took charge of the German national team over the summer, has introduced a stricter set of team rules than those in place under his predecessor Julian Nagelsmann, according to Sport Bild.
Among the changes, the full squad is now expected to arrive on time for dinner at 7pm or 8pm rather than drifting in gradually, with the goal of building team spirit through shared meals. Phones are also banned during matchday activation sessions in the gym or while players receive treatment, though players are encouraged to chat with teammates at neighboring treatment tables.
Haircuts at the team hotel or base are no longer allowed under Klopp's approach, which holds that players should get a haircut before a trip like any other employee. Family visits, which Nagelsmann allowed broadly at the team base, will now be limited to selected occasions so the squad can focus on its collective goal.
Klopp's first match in charge comes Thursday, when Germany face the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League.
