Organizers have revealed a compact Venice course for the Olympic and Paralympic triathlon, with the women's race awarding the first medals of the 2028 Games.
Organizers of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics have released initial details of the triathlon routes for the Olympic and Paralympic Games. The course will be based in Venice, using the beachfront bike path, nearby streets and the Venice Canals before finishing at a spot overlooking the coast.
Athletes will begin the race on the sand at Venice Beach and swim in the Pacific Ocean. It is only the second beach start in Olympic triathlon history.
The women's triathlon is set to award the first medals of the LA28 Games.
