High school football teams across Indiana took the field on Friday, September 25, 2026, with results reported for the Lafayette area and statewide. The slate included lopsided shutouts, narrow margins, and a pair of games decided in overtime.
In Lafayette area play, North Vermillion opened the night's results with a 51-13 win over Attica. Western beat Benton Central 49-6, and Carroll (Flora) topped North White 48-6.
Hamilton Heights edged Central Catholic 28-26 in one of the area's closest games. Clinton Prairie held off Delphi 21-14, while Eastern (Greentown) pulled away from Clinton Central 57-18.
Several area games ended without the loser scoring. Parke Heritage shut out Covington 35-0, Cascade blanked Crawfordsville 56-0, and Western Boone beat Frankfort 49-0.
Lafayette Jeff posted the area's highest point total, defeating Anderson 76-0. McCutcheon won a tight game against Lebanon 20-16, Greencastle beat North Montgomery 40-20, and Harrison topped Terre Haute North 29-6. North Newton held off Frontier 36-26, Seeger beat Fountain Central 46-28, and Faith Christian defeated Tri-County 46-8.
Around the state, a number of results were decided in extra time. Huntington North beat DeKalb 31-28 in double overtime, Mishawaka slipped past Concord 36-35 in overtime, and North Posey outlasted South Spencer 56-55, also in overtime. Salem defeated Corydon Central 37-29 in an overtime finish as well.
Other statewide results included Carmel's 65-31 win over North Central (Indianapolis), Center Grove's 42-21 victory against Lawrence Central, and Avon's 36-26 win over Fishers. Brownsburg beat Westfield 38-14, and Crown Point defeated Valparaiso 28-14.
Offensive outbursts across the state included Maconaquah's 77-35 win over Northwestern, South Putnam's 70-0 shutout of West Vigo, and Knightstown's 75-0 win over Cambridge City Lincoln. Jasper beat Evansville Central 63-12, and Bluffton shut out Southern Wells 64-0. Two out-of-state opponents also picked up wins: Sterling (Ill.) beat Hammond Morton 27-20, and Trotwood-Madison (Ohio) defeated Indianapolis Cathedral 17-10.
