Lothar Matthäus, the former Bayern Munich great, has pushed back at those questioning Michael Olise's reluctance to speak publicly and his distinctive personal style.
In comments to SPORT1, Matthäus argued there is nothing wrong with a player who prefers to avoid the spotlight. In his view, Olise simply has no interest in generating headlines, and forcing him into that role would go against his personality.
Matthäus contrasted himself with the winger, noting that he enjoys talking on camera while Olise tends to head wherever he feels at ease once a match ends. For Olise, that comfort comes from being around teammates rather than standing at a microphone.
He added that as long as the winger keeps performing as he does, his clothing choices are irrelevant and he can ignore any interview request he wants. Matthäus said he finds watching Olise play far more entertaining than anything the player might say to reporters.
