Eli Rosenberg produced a memorable performance on Friday night, September 25, 2026, accounting for 116 total yards and three touchdowns as Milford High defeated Natick 28-7 in a rainy non-league matchup at Memorial Stadium. The senior co-captain also came up big defensively in the secondary with 13 pass breakups, helping the Scarlet Hawks move to 3-0 on the season.
Rosenberg ran five times for 89 yards and a touchdown and added two catches for 37 yards and two more scores. After the game, an emotional Rosenberg said the victory was dedicated to his father, Max Rosenberg, a 1993 Natick High graduate who served as a senior co-captain of the school's 1992 football team. He said his father used to share stories of playing on that same field, that the game had been circled on his calendar since the start of the season, and that he believed his father was looking down on him with a smile.
Natick struck first on the opening possession, a six-play, 50-yard drive. After Brandon Leshinski's 32-yard kickoff return, Levi Oliveira carried three times for 15 yards, and two Milford penalties set up first-and-goal at the 8, from where Oliveira scored. Brayden Lewis added the extra point with 9:27 left in the opening quarter.
The lead lasted just 16 seconds. On Milford's first snap, Rosenberg broke loose from his own 43 and raced down the left sideline for a touchdown, with Tyler Stewart's kick tying the game at 7-7.
Natick threatened repeatedly but came away empty on three red zone trips. After a Rosenberg fumble at the Milford 16, the Redhawks reached first-and-goal at the 6, but Oliveira managed one yard on two carries and Matt Caissie threw two incompletions to end the drive on downs. Oliveira finished with 61 yards on 22 rushes in the game.
Milford went ahead 14-7 with 18 seconds remaining in the first quarter on a nine-play, 95-yard drive that consumed nearly four minutes. Vincent Loscerbo connected with Ryan Atherton for 17 yards, Wanderson Dos Santos broke off a 48-yard run to the Natick 25, and Loscerbo eventually rolled right and found Rosenberg in the corner of the end zone.
Milford's defense held again after Colin Bubonovich's 49-yard return gave Natick good field position. Caissie hit a 24-yard completion to the 12 and later found Owen Young for six yards, but Oliveira was stopped inches short on fourth-and-one from the four. The Redhawks later pieced together a 15-play, 73-yard drive that also ended without points, with a fourth-down completion to Oliveira at the five stopped immediately with 56 seconds left before halftime.
Coach Dana Olson, whose team was flagged 11 times, praised his squad's resilience and defense, noting the unit has played well all season and that keeping Natick off the scoreboard and stopping three red zone trips was significant, while acknowledging the schedule gets tougher ahead. Dos Santos finished with 127 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries, and Loscerbo completed 6 of 14 passes for 144 yards and two touchdowns. Caissie went 9 of 31 for 122 yards with an interception, and Bubonovich caught four passes for 35 yards.
