Detroit's Jahmyr Gibbs holds the No. 1 spot in Yahoo Sports' Week 3 running back rankings, with Bijan Robinson and Jonathan Taylor close behind.
Yahoo Sports has released its weekly ranking of the top 15 NFL running backs ahead of Week 3, and Jahmyr Gibbs of the Detroit Lions holds the top position despite an unusual game in which Detroit trailed Buffalo all night. Gibbs helped his cause with six receptions for 61 yards and a touchdown.
Bijan Robinson of the Atlanta Falcons sits second after averaging 4.5 yards per carry on 16 attempts, though he was held out of the end zone and managed only three catches for nine yards. Indianapolis Colts back Jonathan Taylor is third, having posted two rushing touchdowns in each of the first two weeks while averaging 95 rushing yards per game.
Kenneth Walker III of the Kansas City Chiefs ranks fourth, with the report noting he is capitalizing on his role atop the Chiefs' backfield alongside a healthy Patrick Mahomes. Christian McCaffrey of the San Francisco 49ers is fifth after rushing for two touchdowns on just 10 carries for 23 yards, adding four catches for 43 yards.
The remainder of the top 10 includes James Cook (Buffalo Bills), Ashton Jeanty (Las Vegas Raiders), Derrick Henry (Baltimore Ravens), Saquon Barkley (Philadelphia Eagles) and Omarion Hampton (Los Angeles Chargers). Barkley left early with a stinger and finished with four carries for nine yards, while Hampton ran for a touchdown for the second consecutive week.
Ranks 11 through 15 belong to De'Von Achane (Miami Dolphins), Kyren Williams (Los Angeles Rams), D'Andre Swift (Chicago Bears), Chase Brown (Cincinnati Bengals) and TreVeyon Henderson (New England Patriots). Henderson broke free for a 39-yard touchdown run and gained 76 yards on 16 carries.
