Carolina wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan praised teammate Jalen Coker as a do-everything playmaker while the Panthers' offense ranks among the NFL's best through two weeks.
Carolina's offense has opened the 2026 NFL season with strong production, averaging 35.5 points per game — second leaguewide — and an NFL-best 312.5 passing yards per contest. A more assured Bryce Young, the former No. 1 overall selection in 2023, has driven that surge, with wideouts Jalen Coker and Tetairoa McMillan serving as his primary targets.
In an interview with NFL insider Jordan Schultz, McMillan was effusive about Coker. "He's the truth. He can do everything. He is kind of like the Swiss Army Knife," McMillan said, noting that the coaching staff, Young and the whole locker room rely on Coker to deliver.
McMillan added that he admires how Coker sticks to what works rather than overreaching. "He doesn't try to be something that he is not," McMillan said. "He does the same thing every time."
Coker, 24, opened the season with 138 receiving yards and two touchdowns in a Week 1 loss to the Chicago Bears, then caught eight of nine targets for 66 yards in Week 2. Undrafted in 2024, he earned a three-year, $35 million contract extension from the Panthers in June.
