Carolina Panthers linebacker Devin Lloyd received the NFC defensive player of the week award for his performance against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2.
Carolina Panthers linebacker Devin Lloyd has been named the NFC defensive player of the week for his performance in Week 2 against the Atlanta Falcons.
Lloyd recorded nine tackles, two interceptions, two tackles for loss, and a sack in Carolina's 34-3 win. One of his interceptions was returned for a touchdown.
According to the NFL, Lloyd is just the fifth linebacker since 1982 to post a sack and two interceptions, including one pick-six, in a single game.
This marks the second defensive player of the week award of Lloyd's career. He previously earned the recognition last season while playing for Jacksonville, following a Week 4 performance.
