The New England Patriots, coming off their first victory of the season, visit the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3. Both clubs sit at 1-1, and Jacksonville currently occupies first place in the AFC South.
Jacksonville opened the year by routing Cleveland 34-10, then lost 20-13 at Denver after letting a 13-3 third-quarter lead slip away. A Trevor Lawrence interception proved pivotal in that defeat. Through two games the Jaguars own a plus-17 scoring differential, rank sixth in offensive EPA per play (0.121), and are plus-2 in turnover margin — a contrast to New England's minus-3.
Lawrence has been among the league's top ten quarterbacks by EPA per dropback, hitting 35 of 52 throws (67.3%) for 434 yards, four touchdowns and one pick. Parker Washington leads the receiving group with 12 catches for 181 yards and a score on 18 targets, while Bhayshul Tuten paces the ground game with 131 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries.
On defense, Jacksonville has allowed just two passing touchdowns, recorded five sacks, and picked off two passes — one each by Jourdan Lewis and Foyesade Oluokun. Starting edge rushers Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker have 1.5 sacks apiece. Kicker Cam Little, owner of the NFL record with a 68-yard field goal last season, adds a long-range weapon, and two-way rookie Travis Hunter has seen most of his snaps at cornerback.
