Adams, Young fill in for injured Nacua and Garrett as Rams rout Giants 28-6

Davante Adams caught eight passes for 195 yards and two touchdowns while Byron Young led the pass rush in place of Myles Garrett on Monday night.

With Puka Nacua out because of a hip injury and Myles Garrett also sidelined, the Los Angeles Rams leaned on their depth in a 28-6 win over the New York Giants on Monday night. Davante Adams delivered eight receptions for 195 yards and two touchdowns from Matthew Stafford.

Rams coach Sean McVay said Tuesday that involving Adams early was important, crediting the receiver and his quarterback for a series of difficult catches and throws. Adams noted the offense came out aggressive, saying Stafford manipulates defenses in ways that make things easier for his receivers.

Byron Young replaced Garrett up front and recorded five tackles, a sack and three quarterback hits. He was part of the tackle that knocked Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart out with a knee injury and helped contain backup Jameis Winston the rest of the way.

Aaron Donald played his first NFL game in 32 months, finishing with three tackles and a pressure. He said there is room for improvement but called it a good start.

The Rams improved to 1-1 after opening the season with a 20-point loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Australia. McVay said he is hopeful Nacua can play when Los Angeles hosts the Denver Broncos on a short week.
