McVay, Stafford back Rams running backs after Monday night fumbles

Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford expressed confidence in Kyren Williams and Blake Corum despite two fumbles in the Rams' win over the Giants.

Los Angeles Rams running backs Kyren Williams and Blake Corum each lost a fumble in Monday night's victory over the New York Giants, with both turnovers forced by well-timed punches from Giants safety Jevon Holland. Williams' fumble was lost to New York, while Corum recovered his own.

Despite the miscues, head coach Sean McVay went right back to both players on the following offensive plays. Williams and Corum combined for 189 total yards and a touchdown in the game.

McVay praised the pair's response, calling Williams mentally and physically tough and saying the kind of contact that caused the fumble was simply a learning opportunity. He also noted that tight end Terrance Ferguson, who missed some chances in the passing game, finished with six receptions for 54 yards and the game's final touchdown.

Quarterback Matthew Stafford said nobody is perfect and pointed to his own mistakes, adding that the Rams need everyone to be at their best. Eight different Rams caught at least one pass in the win, which came without receiver Puka Nacua in the lineup.
