Gronkowski Questions Rodgers' Decision After Steelers' Loss to Patriots

Rob Gronkowski said Aaron Rodgers may be second-guessing his return after Pittsburgh's 20-3 defeat to New England in Week 2.

Rob Gronkowski offered a blunt assessment of Aaron Rodgers' start with the Pittsburgh Steelers, saying the quarterback may already be regretting his decision to keep playing.

Speaking with Julian Edelman on The Gronk & Jules Show on September 21, the day after Pittsburgh's 20-3 loss to the New England Patriots, Gronkowski said Rodgers "is probably thinking that he should have retired last year." He added that there is "no juice" in the Steelers offense through the early weeks of the season.

Rodgers, 42, threw for 187 yards and no touchdowns in the Week 2 defeat. He has one touchdown pass through two games, with none in Week 2.

Gronkowski, 37, pointed to the long history between Rodgers and Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy from their time in Green Bay. He noted that across more than 150 games together with the Packers, Rodgers was held without a passing touchdown only twice.

Rodgers publicly weighed retirement after last season before announcing in May that he would play one more year and finish his career in Pittsburgh.
