Gronkowski says Rams WR Davante Adams reminds him of his own game

The retired tight end pointed to Adams' quick release off the line as the trait that mirrors his own specialty in the red zone.
Rob Gronkowski reviewed the Week Two NFL action and singled out one wideout whose play looked familiar to him: Davante Adams of the Los Angeles Rams.
Adams caught two touchdowns and totaled 195 yards in the Rams' win over the New York Giants at SoFi Stadium, stepping up with Puka Nacua unavailable. The performance came in the receiver's 13th NFL season.
Speaking on the Up & Adams Show, Gronkowski credited Adams' release at the line of scrimmage as the foundation of his game, saying that quickness is what allows him to create separation immediately and win on fade routes.
"It's kind of like myself," Gronkowski said, noting that a fast release off the line was one of his own strengths in the red zone.
Other strong Week Two showings included Jaxon Smith-Njigba's 155 yards and three touchdowns for Seattle, Kansas City scoring more than 30 points against Indianapolis, and George Kittle's 80-yard, one-touchdown game for San Francisco.
