The NFL's Week 4 slate wraps up on Monday night when the New Orleans Saints host the Atlanta Falcons in a divisional matchup at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. Kickoff is set for 8:15 p.m. ET on Monday, Oct. 5. The game is the final contest of the week across the league and pairs two NFC South teams.
Both teams enter Monday night with records below .500, and each is chasing a victory that would lift it out of the division's lower reaches and steady its season. With the schedule only at Week 4, the head-to-head result carries added weight in the early NFC South standings.
The game will be televised live on both ESPN and ABC, which are carrying a Monday Night Football simulcast. Joe Buck will handle the play-by-play alongside analyst Troy Aikman. The simulcast puts the game on both cable and broadcast television.
The broadcast is also available to stream on three platforms: DIRECTV, fubo and the ESPN app. Of those options, DIRECTV is currently offering a free trial.
New Orleans is coming off a Week 3 loss to the Raiders, a game in which Kirk Cousins threw multiple touchdown passes at the Saints' expense. The defeat left the Saints below .500. Tyler Shough and Chris Olave have been among the team's standout performers through the opening weeks of the season, and head coach Kellen Moore is hoping the results soon match the progress the team has shown after several disappointing campaigns.
Atlanta arrives off a win over the Packers that ended its skid. The Falcons offense has operated more effectively with Michael Penix Jr. directing it. Kevin Stefanski's team now faces a New Orleans defense that has had trouble keeping opponents off the scoreboard this season, giving the Falcons a chance to build on their improved showing.
The Saints' next five games after Monday include a home meeting with the Vikings on Oct. 11 at 1 p.m. ET and a road game against the Giants on Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. ET. New Orleans then hosts the Steelers on Oct. 25 at 9:30 a.m. ET in the NFL's Paris game. Home dates with the Browns on Nov. 8 and the Panthers on Nov. 15, both at 1 p.m. ET, complete the stretch.
Atlanta's upcoming schedule features home games against the Ravens on Oct. 11 at 8:20 p.m. ET, the Bears on Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. ET and the 49ers on Oct. 25 at 1 p.m. ET. The Falcons then travel to the Buccaneers on Nov. 1 at 1 p.m. ET. They finish the run by hosting the Bengals on Nov. 8 at 9:30 a.m. ET in the NFL's Madrid game.
