Bayern Munich Loanees Weekend Roundup: Fernández Sets Up Winner Against Ofli

Javier Fernández assisted Nürnberg's lone goal in a head-to-head with fellow Bayern loanee Deniz Ofli, while Anna Wellmann kept a clean sheet for Eibar.

Two Bayern Munich loanees went head to head in Germany's 2. Bundesliga as 1. FC Nürnberg visited Karlsruher SC. Javier Fernández set up the only goal of the game in the 30th minute and helped his side keep a clean sheet in a 1-0 away win, while Deniz Ofli played the full 90 minutes for KSC in the loss.

In the Bundesliga, Arijon Ibrahimović remained on the bench for Augsburg's 3-2 defeat at Werder Bremen and did not feature. In Spain's LaLiga, Bryan Zaragoza started for Espanyol, registering two shots on target before coming off in the 67th minute of a 3-1 home loss to Elche.

On the women's side, goalkeeper Anna Wellmann recorded six saves in a shutout as SD Eibar beat Athletic Club Bilbao 1-0 at home and was the highest-rated player on either team.

Elsewhere, Felipe Chávez came on for the final 24 minutes of Magdeburg's 1-1 draw at Greuther Fürth, and Richard Meier played the first half of Meppen's 1-0 loss at Hoffenheim II, a fourth consecutive defeat. Magnus Dalpiaz went the distance in Hartberg's high-scoring home draw with LASK, while Julien Yanda was an unused substitute in Eldense's 2-1 home loss to Eibar.

Several loanees received international call-ups ahead of the break. Ibrahimović joined Germany's Under-21 squad for qualifiers against Latvia, Malta and Georgia; Fernández was named to Spain's U-21 side; and Ofli will join Türkiye's U-21 team.
