Celtic defender Cameron Carter-Vickers says the players still support manager Martin O'Neill despite a rough run of results that has intensified scrutiny.
Cameron Carter-Vickers says Celtic's squad continues to back manager Martin O'Neill and his coaching staff as scrutiny over the club's form grows.
Celtic have hit a difficult stretch, falling to Rangers twice inside a week, with a 3-1 Europa League loss to Ferencvaros coming in between the two derby defeats. After Sunday's 1-0 loss at Celtic Park, O'Neill said he would take time to consider his own position.
"All I can say is, as players, we're behind the manager, behind the management team," Carter-Vickers said. He pointed to what the manager accomplished last season and said the playing group remains grateful for that.
The defender also acknowledged supporter frustration, calling football a results-based business and admitting the team's recent results have not met the standard. He said the players and staff must keep working daily to establish the identity the team wants.
