CIAC Field Hockey: Standout Week and Key Matchups Ahead

Goalie saves, hat tricks and a four-goal game highlight this week's Connecticut high school field hockey honors, with several marquee games on the schedule.
Several attackers delivered big scoring weeks in Connecticut high school field hockey. Bibi Osberg of Darien and Ellie Meyran of Branford each put in four goals, Osberg in a 10-0 rout of Ridgefield and Meyran against Shelton. Hat tricks came from Ellie Kim of Simsbury in a 5-0 defeat of Enfield and Gigi Smith of Conard in a 4-0 win over Wethersfield.
Other multi-goal efforts included Tessa DeLucia of North Branford with two in a 5-0 win over Morgan, Tulah Imbruce of New Canaan with two in a 4-0 result against McMahon, Summer Stefanelli of East Lyme with both goals in a 2-0 rivalry win over Stonington, and Catherine Viveros of Nonnewaug with two against Lewis Mills. Soren Harris of Simsbury scored the only goal in a 1-0 decision over Glastonbury.
Goalkeepers also made their mark. Addison Davis of Wethersfield stopped seven shots in a 1-1 draw with Cranston East of Rhode Island, Kylie Reynolds of Lakeview made 12 saves in a 3-0 win over Bethel, and Avery Waters of Hand turned away 13 to complete a 1-0 shutout of Guilford.
The week's schedule includes Branford visiting New Canaan on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., where Anna Hering and Reagan Celiberti lead the Rams against a Branford side built around three seniors, among them GametimeCT All-State First Team selections Lily Panuccio and Jessica Radziunas. Wilton travels to Darien on Thursday at 4 p.m. in a rematch of last season's 1-0 Class L semifinal, with both sides seen as FCIAC title threats even after Wilton moved to Class M.
Friday brings Shepaug to Nonnewaug at 3:30 p.m. for a Berkshire League test against goalkeeper Fiona Scozzafava, rated among the state's finest. Monday's slate features Ludlowe at Staples at 4 p.m. — Staples has knocked Ludlowe out of the past two Class L semifinals, most recently on a shootout — and Simsbury at Granby Memorial at 4:30 p.m., a meeting of two unbeaten teams.
