Newcastle's Under-18s won 3-0 at Sunderland's Academy of Light, their fifth win in six league games this season.
Newcastle United's Under-18 side earned a 3-0 away victory over Sunderland in an 11am kickoff at the Academy of Light on Saturday. Charlie Robinson and Noah Morgan scored, with substitute Theo Benjamin adding the third. Benjamin is the son of former striker Trevor Benjamin.
The goal carried extra significance for the young forward, who has now found the net three times against Sunderland within a week. In the Under-17s Premier League Cup the previous Tuesday, Newcastle won 4-1 at Sunderland, with Benjamin scoring twice and Jack Skelton and Jayden Koussou adding one each.
The latest league result gives Newcastle five wins from six matches in the Under-18 Premier League North, with their only loss coming against Manchester United. The team has scored 19 goals across those six games and sits second in the table behind Manchester City.
The current campaign follows a steady rise in recent seasons. Newcastle's Under-18s placed 14th of 14 in 2021/22, 12th of 13 in 2022/23, eighth of 13 in 2023/24, fifth of 13 in 2024/25, and third of 14 in 2025/26.
