Youssouf Singarè Lands at Wagner, Setting Up UConn Homecoming

The former Huskies center, now on his third college roster, is in line to play at Gampel Pavilion when the Seahawks visit on Nov. 9.

Youssouf Singarè is on the move again. The 6-foot-10 center, who spent two seasons at UConn before transferring to High Point, has surfaced on the Wagner roster as an addition that had not been previously announced.

Wagner travels to Gampel Pavilion on Nov. 9, giving Singarè a chance to face his old program. UConn coach Dan Hurley has his own history with the Seahawks, having started his head coaching career on Staten Island before moving on to Rhode Island.

A Mali native, Singarè developed into a top-150 recruit in the 247Sports Composite after a prep year at Our Saviour Lutheran in the Bronx. He picked UConn over BYU and several Big East programs as part of the Huskies' 2023 class alongside Stephon Castle, Solo Ball, Jaylin Stewart and Jayden Ross.

Playing time never came easily in Storrs. Singarè totaled 87 minutes over two seasons and entered the transfer portal in March 2025. His standout moment may have been the 2024-25 Big East opener against Xavier, when he posted four points and two rebounds in eight minutes of an overtime win while Samson Johnson sat in concussion protocol.

At High Point last season he saw 7.8 minutes per game and appeared in both of the Panthers' 2026 NCAA Tournament contests, including a first-round upset of fifth-seeded Wisconsin. Wagner's roster also features Waterbury native Tajae Jones and ex-Fairfield player Cam Estevez.
