Hampton to Make Two October Trips to Kentucky, Host Free Youth Camp

The committed guard will visit Lexington for Big Blue Madness and again in mid-October, when he will run a free camp for local kids.

Kentucky men's basketball commit Ryan Hampton is scheduled to make two visits to Lexington in October, his father Rod Hampton told KSR. The first trip lines up with Big Blue Madness on October 2, followed by another the next week for the LSU football game on October 10.

Hampton, a top-25 commit who is not expected to suit up for the Wildcats until the 2027-28 season, will also give back to the community during that second trip. He is set to host a free youth basketball camp on October 10, the same day as the football matchup with LSU.

The camp runs from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Lexington Ice Center & Sports Complex on Eureka Springs Drive. It is open to boys and girls in first through eighth grade.

Each camper will receive an autographed souvenir from Hampton, a group photo with him, and a limited-edition ProCamp T-shirt. Autographs will be on an item provided at the event, with outside items not permitted.

"It's going to be fun," Rod Hampton told KSR. "He's been coached hard his whole life, so I think this is going to be a camp where he is around kids, and he's going to make it really fun for them, but he's going to teach them the fundamentals of the game. It's going to be a lot of instruction and a lot of good teaching, but I think this is just going to be fun for everyone involved."

The visits come after Mark Pope and the Kentucky staff traveled to see Hampton over the weekend.
