Treasure Coast improved to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in District 8-6A with a 42-0 home rout of St. Lucie West Centennial at South County Regional Sports Complex on Friday. The Titans led 29-0 at halftime and moved above .500 for the first time in three seasons. Andre Mackey and Adam Serieux each ran for two touchdowns, Xavier Williams scored on a 35-yard punt return, and Easton Keene added a short fourth-quarter touchdown run. The Titans also recorded a safety.
Treasure Coast, now a winner of three straight, hosts Fort Pierce Westwood next week with a chance to extend its streak. St. Lucie West Centennial fell to 1-4 overall and 0-2 in district play after its fourth consecutive loss and travels to DeLand on Friday.
In another District 8-6A game, Vero Beach edged Fort Pierce Central 10-7 behind a strong defensive effort. Martin County also won a defensive struggle, shutting out Seminole Ridge 7-0 on the road in District 12-5A to snap a two-game skid. The Tigers, now 3-2 and 1-0 in district play, face South Fork in Martin Bowl 43 on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Napoli Orthodontics Stadium. South Fork entered that matchup off a 32-14 home loss to Royal Palm Beach in District 12-5A.
Jensen Beach rolled past Port St. Lucie 35-0 in a District 13-4A homecoming game. Dre Lott accounted for three touchdowns, rushing for two and throwing for another, while Tyrie MaFadden and Nasean Estelhomme also reached the end zone. Falcons head coach Tim Caffey said his team set aside the distractions of homecoming and played a strong first half, though he noted penalties remain an area to clean up.
The Falcons sit at 4-2 overall and 2-0 in district play and have a bye next week. They can move closer to a second straight district title when they visit Heritage on Friday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m.
Fort Pierce Westwood broke open a tight game with a big second half to beat Legacy 36-3 at Lawnwood Stadium and improve to 3-2. Sophomore quarterback Elize Pierre threw for two touchdowns and ran for another, Jermaine Walker caught two touchdown passes and Jorden Swoope scored once. Head coach LaDaris Vann criticized his team's slow, undisciplined first half, which included four turnovers and an 8-3 halftime lead, and said the Panthers must be more focused and accountable. Legacy, now 2-4, hosts Beachside at 6 p.m. Thursday.
John Carroll Catholic improved to 2-0 in the Muck with a 23-20 win at Pahokee in District 10-1A. The Rams led 15-14 at halftime, fell behind in the third quarter, then regained the lead in the fourth before a missed Pahokee field goal preserved the win. Head coach Mickey Groody credited his players' work since January and said the result sets the Rams up well for district play. John Carroll hosts Holy Trinity Friday at 7 p.m. at McGuide Stadium.
St. Edward's got three touchdown passes from freshman backup quarterback Nolan Ange in a 29-0 win over All Saints' Academy in Vero Beach, improving to 3-4. Ange, starting in place of the injured Dylan Colontrelle, connected with Christian Alfonso twice and Tristen Scent once, while Kayleb Redmon added a rushing score and an interception alongside Colton Freedman. St. Edward's hosts Glades Day at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Elsewhere, Jupiter Christian scored 41 first-half points in a 48-0 win at Tradition Prep, dropping the Pirates to 1-5 and their third shutout loss of the season. Tradition Prep hosts Moore Haven next week, while Okeechobee fell to Lake Placid 24-6, extending the Brahmans' losing streak to four games.
