Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels is seeing another specialist for his dislocated left elbow, with no timetable set for his return.
Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn told reporters Wednesday that quarterback Jayden Daniels is seeing another specialist to evaluate his dislocated left elbow, his non-throwing arm. There is still no timetable for when the 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year might return, or whether he will play again this season.
Daniels originally hurt the elbow last November against the Seattle Seahawks and reinjured it late in the first half of Sunday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys, when he stumbled after a lineman stepped on his foot and braced his fall. Washington faces Seattle, the reigning Super Bowl champion, in Week 3.
Quinn said the team is not considering adding another quarterback until Daniels's prognosis is clearer. Marcus Mariota, who went 2-6 as a starter while Daniels was sidelined last season, will start Sunday's home opener.
Daniels missed 10 games in 2025 with knee, hamstring and elbow injuries. Quinn said the team plans to take its time making the best decision for the quarterback's health.
