Sam Darnold returns to Seahawks practice Wednesday as he works back from a glute injury, with a Week 3 matchup against Washington in view.
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold is scheduled to take part in practice Wednesday as he recovers from a glute injury. Head coach Mike Macdonald has said Darnold would be involved in some fashion, and ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the plan is for his workload to increase as the week goes on.
Darnold was hurt just five snaps into Seattle's season opener and sat out the Week 2 victory over the Arizona Cardinals, which the Seahawks won 31-7. The team declined to place him on injured reserve, keeping the door open for a quick return.
With Darnold sidelined, Drew Lock has led Seattle to back-to-back wins, compiling 422 passing yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions. Despite that run, Macdonald has indicated Darnold will regain the starting job once he is fully healthy.
