UFL Adds Colorado Springs Team for 2027 Season

The United Football League will expand to eight clubs in 2027, with a new Colorado Springs franchise set to host its opener at Weidner Field on April 11.
Spring football is heading to Colorado. On Sept. 23, the United Football League confirmed that a Colorado Springs franchise will begin play in the 2027 season, part of an expansion that also includes a Rhode Island club.
The two additions bring the UFL to eight teams. Further growth is already scheduled, with expansion sides in Utah and Oklahoma set to enter the league in 2028.
The Colorado Springs club will call Weidner Field home. The downtown venue currently hosts Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC of the soccer world.
Supporters will learn the franchise's identity on Oct. 25, when the name, colors and logo are revealed at a public event at the stadium. Team and ticket details are posted at theufl.com/colorado.
Even without a name, the club's schedule has its first date. The inaugural home game is set for 1 p.m. Mountain on April 11 and will air on ABC.
