Newman's Nicklaus Finishes Fourth at Three Rivers Golf Meet

Newman's Liam Nicklaus posted an 83 at Emerald Hill, finishing fourth at the Three Rivers boys golf conference meet and earning first-team all-conference recognition. Teammate Jeff Thormeyer shot an 87 to place 19th and pick up second-team all-conference honors.
Rockridge won the team competition with a 338. Hall followed at 345, with Orion at 346, Mendota and Riverdale tied at 349, Newman at 351 and Erie-Prophetstown at 355.
Elsewhere in boys golf, Fulton capped a 15-0 regular season by beating East Dubuque 158-172, with Galena (189) and West Carroll (214) also in the field. Owen Van Zuiden was medalist with a 34. Dakota edged Forreston 160-169, as Forreston's Daylen Rahn took medalist honors with a 39 and teammate Hudson Bowers carded a 42.
In other results, Rockridge's girls golf team defeated Erie-Prophetstown 199-243, with Baylie Snowden leading E-P at Highland Springs with a 53. Dixon's girls tennis team blanked Princeton 5-0 to move to 10-2, with Brooklyn Arjes and Rachel Lance sweeping singles and Maddie Emmole and Jenna Mustapha winning No. 1 doubles 5-7, 6-2, 10-6.
