Packers unsure if Jayden Reed's season is over after neck injury

Green Bay head coach Matt LaFleur says it is too early to determine whether wide receiver Jayden Reed will return in 2026.

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur told reporters on Tuesday that it is too soon to determine whether wide receiver Jayden Reed will miss the remainder of the 2026 season. Reed left the game against the New York Jets with what LaFleur confirmed was a neck injury, though the team lists him with a back injury.

Reed stayed overnight on the East Coast for testing after the injury and has since returned to Green Bay. He had been serving as the Packers' starting slot receiver, with Skyy Moore filling that role on Sunday after Reed exited.

Reed signed a three-year, $50.25 million contract extension this offseason, which included a $16.5 million signing bonus. The extension years begin in 2027.

In other injury news, LaFleur said left guard Aaron Banks will be given until game time to determine his availability with knee and toe injuries. Anthony Belton, filling in for Zach Bako-Bewele, is expected to play Thursday despite appearing on the injury report with a shoulder issue.

If Banks cannot play, Donovan Jennings would be first in line at left guard, followed by Jager Burton. If Belton is unable to go at right tackle, John Williams or Travis Glover would be in line to start.
