Portage County Week 7: Streetsboro, Mogadore, Southeast win after losses

Mogadore, Southeast and Streetsboro each answered Week 6 defeats, while Berkshire, Cloverleaf, Roosevelt, St. Joseph Central Catholic and Kirtland also won in Week 7 action.
Mogadore, Southeast and Streetsboro all turned Week 6 defeats into Week 7 victories, headlining the latest round of Portage County high school football. Beyond a Liberty-Garfield game covered separately, the slate also brought shutouts from Roosevelt and Kirtland and a 71-point showing from unbeaten St. Joseph Central Catholic.
Streetsboro cruised past Ravenna 63-14 a week after falling to Cloverleaf. Logan Fincham scored three rushing touchdowns, and Isiah Henderson — continuing his comeback from a broken collarbone — ran for two more. Colton Cox threw three touchdown passes, two to Kyle Giacomo and one to Noah Hodge, and Hodge added a rushing score for the Rockets (5-2, 3-1 MAC).
Mogadore followed a one-point loss to Linsly by beating Pymatuning Valley 38-7. Kade Thomas opened the scoring on a four-yard run, Maddox Smith made it 14-0 from a yard out, and the senior added touchdown passes of 77 yards to Quarviyon Siggers-Greco and 39 yards to Collin Hendrickson. Smith finished with four touchdowns — two rushing, two passing — for the 5-2 Wildcats.
Berkshire trailed Rootstown 7-0 after a quarter before a 28-point second quarter carried it to a 47-14 win, outscoring the Rovers 47-7 the rest of the way. Rootstown quarterback Blake Mullaly scored first, Oliver Miller tied it on an 18-yard run, and Miller finished with six touchdowns — five rushing, one passing — on 12-of-18 passing for 161 yards plus 78 yards on 11 carries. Bennett Miller's 45-yard interception return gave the Badgers (4-3, 3-1 CVC Valley) their first lead, and Oliver Miller's 61-yard touchdown pass to Bear Masink stretched the advantage to two scores. Dasen Marker caught six passes for 49 yards, and Mullaly led Rootstown (3-4, 0-3 CVC Valley) with 25 carries, 141 yards and two touchdowns.
Kenston blanked Aurora for three quarters and came away with a 21-8 Suburban American win. Tucker Meeks' three-yard run accounted for the only first-half points, a margin the Bombers (4-3, 3-1 Suburban American) protected in part with a blocked field goal. Trailing 14-0, Tommy Stenger broke through for the Greenmen on a 79-yard touchdown run and led them with 20 carries for 171 yards. After Aurora pulled within 14-8 with 7:47 to go, Jake Rostocil scored the decisive touchdown on a fake-punt run.
Cloverleaf remained first in the MAC with a 63-14 rout of Field, rolling up 49 first-half points behind a 35-point second quarter. Isaac Smith threw three touchdowns on just seven pass attempts, and Kellen Price added 89 yards on 10 carries. Mason Ford paced the Falcons (2-5, 1-3) with 105 passing and 69 rushing yards, scoring once each way, and Alex Williams caught three passes for 89 yards and a touchdown as the Colts improved to 6-1, 4-0.
Roosevelt collected a second consecutive shutout, 46-0 over Springfield, moving to 4-3 (2-2 MAC) and above .500; the Rough Riders are giving up 6.5 points per game across their four wins. Southeast beat Champion 26-14, a third win in four games after an 0-3 start. Both previous Pirates victories were one-score results, and though this margin was slightly wider, Southeast (3-4, 3-1 MVAC Gray Tier) trailed 14-7 at the half and 14-13 through three quarters.
St. Joseph Central Catholic kept its perfect record at 7-0 (6-0 Northern 8 Football Conference), downing Windham 71-34 while reaching the end zone at least twice in every quarter. Liam Thiessen gained 222 yards on 17 carries with two first-quarter scores, one covering 73 yards. Zach Ohms completed 12 of 15 passes for 280 yards and four touchdowns and ran for another, and Andrew Spieldenner posted five touchdowns — three rushing, two receiving — with four after halftime. Windham (3-4, 2-4) got 229 passing yards and three touchdowns from Bryan Smithberger, including throws of 58 and 33 yards to Alex Eye, who added a one-yard touchdown run.
Kirtland won its fourth straight, 32-0 over Crestwood, its second shutout in that stretch; the Hornets (6-1, 4-0 CVC Valley) have allowed 10 points during the streak. Sebastian Becker ran for two touchdowns inside the opening 14 minutes to build a 15-0 lead. Mario Lorber hit Tommy Caimi for a touchdown and Marko Valentic added a 36-yard field goal to make it 25-0 at the break, and Caimi's rushing score inside two minutes of the second half closed out the scoring.
