Los Angeles is bringing the veteran wide receiver up from the practice squad ahead of its Week matchup with Buffalo.
The Los Angeles Chargers have signed wide receiver Marquez Valdez-Scantling to the active roster, promoting him from the practice squad where he landed in Week Two.
The roster shuffle also included the release of wide receiver Greg Jennings and the addition of tight end Hayden Rucci, who was signed off the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad.
Valdez-Scantling, who turns 32 next week, spent the offseason with the Dallas Cowboys but has not appeared in a game since last season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He finished the 2025 campaign with 14 receptions for 120 yards and a touchdown while splitting time between Pittsburgh and San Francisco. In 2024, he caught four touchdown passes with the New Orleans Saints.
The Chargers now carry six wide receivers on the active roster. With Ladd McConkey recovering from a rib injury, Valdez-Scantling could see playing time when Los Angeles faces the Buffalo Bills.
