The Quakers blanked St. Johns 8-0 on Tuesday to secure the CAAC Red championship behind a five-goal night from senior Tresor Ebuela.
Lansing Eastern's boys soccer team has earned a league championship for the first time in the program's existence. On Tuesday, the Quakers rolled past St. Johns by an 8-0 scoreline, clinching the CAAC Red title with a 4-0-1 record in league play.
Senior Tresor Ebuela delivered five goals in the win and described the day as one of the best of his young life. He noted that he has spent four years with the program, including losing seasons of 2-14 as a freshman and 4-14 as a sophomore, making the turnaround especially meaningful.
The Quakers are coached by Luke Kane, now in his third season at the helm. After an 11-4-3 campaign a year ago, the team sits at 11-1-3 this season. Kane admitted he expected the rebuild to take longer and credited the players' work over the past three years.
Lansing Eastern is scheduled to visit Lansing Catholic on Thursday, Sept. 24, in its next regular-season match.
