Northwestern's boys soccer team needed two overtime periods to get past Lakeview on Wednesday afternoon, closing out a 3-2 road-style grind behind a two-goal performance from Reid Nadeau.
Nadeau's second strike of the day, coming in the second overtime, settled the match for the Highlanders. Easton Combes added the other Northwestern goal, while goalkeepers Lucas Horstman and Landon Nadeau split time and combined on six saves.
Lakeview kept the game level through regulation behind goals from Jackson Styles and Jeremiah Saccomer. Bobcats keeper Oliver Galian was busy throughout, finishing with 12 saves.
In girls volleyball, Wilcox Tech defeated Wolcott Tech 3-1 behind a milestone performance from Madison Donadio, who recorded 14 kills to reach 500 for her career. Donadio also contributed 13 digs and three aces.
Alivia Fiorillo ran the Wilcox Tech offense with 25 assists to go with seven digs, and Giuliana Rosario chipped in with nine aces and seven kills in the win.
Both matches were part of Wednesday's slate of Connecticut high school fall sports action.
